Course Overview

The “First Person on Scene 1” (RTI First Person on Scene™ 1) training program provides participants with targeted knowledge and skills in emergency care until the arrival of emergency medical services.

The program aims to support the life of an adult patient or casualty by applying first aid techniques with the use of specialized equipment (Oxygen Cylinder & Automated External Defibrillator).

Target Audience

It is intended for individuals who wish to provide emergency assistance as part of their work or activities, such as employees in security and rescue services, cabin crew, as well as anyone interested in specialized training leading to an advanced qualification.

Life-Threatening Medical Conditions

  • Myocardial infarction
  • Ventricular fibrillation (sudden cardiac arrest)
  • Airway obstruction
  • Severe bleeding

  • Anaphylactic shock

Adult Basic Life Support

  • Checking for breathing
  • Maintaining the airway and breathing
  • Maintaining circulation
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Unconscious casualty
  • Recovery position

Automated External Defibrillation – Adult

  • Description of the AED
  • Operation of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Connecting the AED to the casualty
  • AED voice prompts
  • AED safety and maintenance

Emergency Oxygen Administration

  • Use of a continuous-flow oxygen cylinder
  • Non-rebreather mask
  • Pocket mask for rescue breathing

Assessment & Certification
