Emergency First Aid at Work UK (EFAW UK)

The “Emergency First Aid at Work” training program is suitable for workplaces with a small number of employees and a low level of occupational risk.

The duration of the training is 6 hours and it is the best option for employers who cannot allocate many hours to training.

The program covers the main life-threatening emergencies and teaches participants how to respond to them. Training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is also included.

Upon completion of the training, participants receive the “Emergency First Aid at Work” certification from Rescue Training International without having to take an examination. The certification is valid for 3 years.

Optionally, the training can be combined with training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid Oxygen, for which separate recognized certificates are issued.

1. Fully in-person training (theoretical and practical components).
Upon successful completion and examination, you will directly receive the internationally recognized RTI certification.

2. Distance learning (completion of the theoretical component) and online assessment.
You will receive a digital distance learning certificate. Within 1 year, you can complete the practical component of your program with a certified RTI Instructor and obtain the internationally recognized Rescue Training International certification.

According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, every workplace must have at least one trained first aider.

• Understanding of current legislation on first aid.
• Understanding the role of the first aider.
• Understanding the use of first aid equipment in the workplace.
• Understanding the basic principles of personal hygiene and protection when providing first aid in the workplace.
• Description and recording of the incident.

Providing safe, immediate and effective action by following safe approach rules and procedures in the following cases:

• Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

• Heart attack
• Unconscious casualty
• Epilepsy
• Bleeding
• Shock
• Treatment of minor injuries and wounds
