Emergency First Aid at Work CY (EFAW CY)

The training program “First Aid at Work – Emergencies” is suitable for workplaces with a small number of employees and a low occupational hazard index.

The duration of the training is 6 hours and is the best option for employers who cannot allocate many hours to training.

The program includes the main life-threatening incidents as well as teaching how to deal with them. It includes learning in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Successful candidates of the program receive the relevant certification “RTI First Aid at Work – Emergencies CY” valid for three (3) years.

Optionally, training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator and First Aid Oxygen is combined, modules for which a separate recognized certificate is issued.

1. Fully in-person training (theoretical and practical components).
Upon successful completion and examination, you will directly receive the internationally recognized RTI certification.

2. Distance learning (completion of the theoretical component) and online assessment.
You will receive a digital distance learning certificate. Within 1 year, you can complete the practical component of your program with a certified RTI Instructor and obtain the internationally recognized Rescue Training International certification.

Under the 2009 (Safety and Health at Work) Regulations, it is mandatory for first aiders to be trained in First Aid at Work and to hold a valid certificate from an Approved First Aid Training Provider.

• Understanding the role of the first aider.
• Understanding the use of first aid equipment in the workplace.
• Understanding the basic principles of personal hygiene and protection during the provision of first aid in the workplace.
• Description and recording of the incident.

Providing safe, immediate and effective action by following safe approach rules and procedures in the following cases:

• Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Choking
• Heart attack
• Unconscious casualty
• Epilepsy
• Bleeding
• Shock
• Treatment of minor injuries and wounds

• The assessment is conducted throughout the training.
• Attendance throughout the entire program and participation in the practical exercises are required.
